Gas treatment unit has a block design, with several filters-separators installed on frame.
The filter separator is meant for gas treatment from mechanical impurities and condensed moisture on the compressor and gas distribution stations, gas pipeline linear sections, as well as production facilities when gas treatment is required.
In terms of design filter separator is a weld fabricated vessel of cylindrical shape with elliptical bottoms.
Operation concept: Gas is strongly twisted by control plate, upstream of the filter in liquid separator-side. The vortex arises there, speed in which increases towards to the middle of the vortex, the same happens while vortex forming during water discharge from the bathroom - the centrifugal forces acting on dust and liquid particles exceed gravity many times.
Due to this, part of impurities are rejected to the outer wall of the separator case. Since the gas velocity at the wall is of negligible importance, centrifugal forces are greatly reduced. The pressure distribution in the gas vortex (high pressure prevails in the outer vortex) causes the secondary gas flow in the middle of the vortex. This stream carries contaminants and prevents their buildup on the walls of the case.
Impurities flow long with the main stream, while gravity acting on the particles and the force which results from the pressure drop in the vortex, are aligned, and then impurities fall to the bottom of the separator under strong gravitating. The weir in the middle of the height of the separator prevents re-entrainment of contaminants collected by gas stream. Then the gas stream flows into the upper part of the filter, where it is further filtered by the filter element. After passing through the filter element, gas discharges from gas filter separator through the outlet.
Gas treatment unit provides fulfillment of the following functions:
Depending on productivity, gas treatment unit can be manufactured as a part of separator (FS) or cyclone-type dust collectors (CTDC) disposed in block boxes or on the frame. Design of FS and CTDC ensures structural integrity, fire and explosion safety and stable operation of the equipment installed after the gas treatment unit.
Gas treatment unit is completed with the necessary appliances and automation control devices allowing to ensure operation and process control.
